To instill a love for learning, a respect for knowledge, a spirit of creativity, a willingness to explore new ideas and experiences and the confidence to take risks.

At the heart of Roycemore's mission is the expectation that every student, age three through Grade 12, will be known by name and valued as an individual with unique talents and abilities. In small classes, teachers nurture and build upon each student's strengths, while providing support in areas of challenge.

Open and frequent communication between teachers, parents, students and administrators fosters an active school community. Students are encouraged to participate in numerous activities during and after school regardless of experience, offering them additional paths to success.

In Lower School, we provide a firm academic foundation by urging students to reach higher and enjoy learning so they are never bored or frustrated, often through differentiated instruction. In Middle School, a positive, engaging learning environment helps active adolescents approach subjects with enthusiasm. Middle Schoolers choose their own faculty advisors: someone with whom they can form a bond, who helps them set goals and develop as an individual.

In Upper School, our challenging college preparatory curriculum that emphasizes problem-solving and writing skills encourages students to develop greater independence and self-confidence. Qualified Upper Schoolers may attend classes at nearby Northwestern University. Our college counselor makes a point of getting to know each student's personality and dreams as she guides families through this important process.

At every level, we strive to inspire excellence and celebrate individuality.
