German International School Chicago (GISC) is an independent, not-for-profit, dual-language German immersion school. GISC is a Candidate School for the PYP of the International Baccalaureate, a Provisional Member of ISACS and is an official PASCH Partner School as well as a recognized DSD-School (Deutsches Sprachdiplom/German Language Certificate) by the ZfA (Central Agency for Schools Abroad).

GISC's curriculum is taught mainly in German using a multi-cultural approach. The school welcomes students of all backgrounds and nationalities. Students learn in a supportive, individualized environment that nurtures curiosity and creativity and fosters global awareness.

Enhanced by low student-to-teacher ratios, GISC students intimately experience a wide variety of subjects, including Practical Life, Language Development, Reading and Writing, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, General Life Sciences, History, Music, Visual Arts, Performance Arts, and Sports. GISC students – fluent in German and English – will become well-rounded, responsible global citizens.

GISC offers preschool (3- and 4-year olds), kindergarten, and grades 1-5 for the school year 2015-16. Extracurricular programs and before and after school care are available. As the school continues to grow and expand, grades will be added through 12th grade.
