Fox Valley Montessori School
Fox Valley Montessori School is a child centered, peaceful, safe and family focused educational community. We are guided by the Montessori principles, fostering a child's life-long love of learning, academic achievement, self confidence, mutual respect, and independence. We nurture children's individual development and inspire their joyful discovery. The Fox Valley Montessori Community believes in the child as a whole being. We strive to foster the growth of global citizens through social and environmental responsibility, creative and critical thinking, leadership, and life management skills.
Fox Valley Montessori School was founded 44 years ago by concerned parents looking for a unique and positive educational experience for their children. The school has long been a respected part of the local community, educating generations of families.
FVMS offers programs for children ages 15 months through 6th grade, taught by certified, experienced, Montessori teachers. Our bright and spacious classrooms are equipped with genuine Montessori materials. Our teaching staff works collaboratively to offer each student the best opportunities to grow academically, personally and socially. We offer a unique, hands on learning experience that cultivates children's natural inquisitiveness and provides opportunities for divergent thinking.
In the fall of 2012, Fox Valley Montessori began the first Montessori STEM Education program in the state of Illinois, funded in part through a grant from the UIC Colloquium for World Class Education. The school was awarded the grant based on our innovative learning model and our comprehensive plan to enhance the STEM oriented thinking styles already encouraged by the Montessori classroom.
In addition to our beautiful classrooms, FVMS students enjoy a 2200 square foot gymnasium, and three separate outdoor environments. Our students participate in physical education, music, yoga, art, and Spanish, taught by specialized teachers. We also offer extracurricular activities including chess, dance, martial arts, crafts and yoga.
