The British School of Chicago is an independent, co-educational school serving over 750 students in Pre-K through 12th Grade. We are a well-resourced school that enjoys an excellent teacher student ratio and an exciting, vibrant learning focus. As a fully accredited international school we offer a unique combination of international curriculums concluding with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the last two years of high school. We provide a personalized approach to learning with a global focus and worldwide perspective. Our British-trained teachers tailor their instruction and adjust the curriculum to the children's needs rather than expecting the children to modify themselves. We offer a range of clubs and activities that enrich the lives of our students, including many traditional sports in addition to specialized activities that include fencing, rowing and rock climbing. In order to develop the whole student we provide a range of support and mentoring services through our pastoral program.

In our Early Years Program and Primary School, we focus on providing a nurturing, happy, and stimulating environment where young children acquire the essential skills for life-long learning. Speaking articulately and confidently, reading, writing, and working with numbers run alongside the playful development of imagination, confidence, and social and emotional skills, all set in an international context.

The British School of Chicago's high school program consists of two 2-year courses of study which conclude with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. The courses taken prior to the IB Programme are designed to allow for a much more in-depth study of the core topics. Successful completion of the IB Programme leads to an International Baccalaureate Diploma, a qualification that is highly esteemed and widely recognized by leading colleges and universities across the US and the world.
