Coming next month

You don't have to stay home on Labor Day Weekend. There's plenty to do in the city and suburbs. Here's a sampling:

Three things to do on Labor Day weekend

1) Last weekend of Cirque Shanghai Extreme - Hire-wire motorcycles, mid-air sword fighting, and Cirque's signature acrobats and clowns. If you've been putting off getting tickets to Cirque's summer extravaganza on Navy Pier, now is the time. The show, which opened in June, closes Monday, September 5.

2) AutumnFest at Morton Arboretum. Morton kicks off a two-month celebration this weekend, which includes Theatre Hikes' production of "Around the World in 80 Days," visual arts in the wild with "Nature Unframed," and enough hiking and biking to make the kids sleep really well.

3)On September 3-4, take your Bank of America bank or credit card to local museums and get in free! Museums on Us is partnering with The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago History Museum, DuSable Museum of African American History, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and Shedd Aquarium.
