Chicago accepting nominations for official 2010 Christmas tree

[Flickr photo]. The city of Chicago is again on the hunt for an official Christmas tree to stand in Daley Plaza this holiday season.
Got a tall tree? Like, really tall?
The City of Chicago wants it. Maybe.
The city is looking for its official 2010 Christmas tree and is taking nominations from the public through Oct. 11. Trees must be:
- At least 55 feet tall
- Spruce or fir trees are best. No pine trees, as they aren't sturdy enough.
- Accessible to insure a safe removal and located within 100 miles of downtown Chicago.
Nominations must include three photographs of the tree (one from afar and two up close) along with 100 words or less on why the tree should be the city's official Christmas tree. Include your name, address and contact information and e-mail to moseinquiry@cityofchicago.org or mail to: ATTN: Christmas Tree Contest, 121 North LaSalle Street, Room 806, Chicago, Ill 60602.
The family who donates the winning tree will join Mayor Richard M. Daley for the official tree-lighting ceremony Thanksgiving week.
