Santa will once again trade his sleigh for the steel and chrome of a CTA car this year, delighting kids and befuddling newcomers aboard the 19th annual Holiday Train, CTA officials announced today.

The train will make its debut on Saturday, Nov. 20 on the Red and Purple lines, and will hit all CTA lines throughout November and December. See the full schedule below.

The flamboyantly festive train, decked out with colored lights, bows and garland and arriving to a stream of holiday music, has become a holiday staple in Chicago -- and goes a long way toward scrounging up some good cheer during those cold nights and mornings spent on an El platform.
