We stopped by the 2013 Chicago Auto Show this morning to bring you a quick family guide to read before you head out to McCormick Place. This is the nation’s largest and longest-running auto exposition, which showcases over 1,000 domestic and imported vehicles, auto-related exhibits, competition vehicles and project, antique and collector cars.

The 103rd Annual Chicago Auto Show is a great place to escape the cold weather and keep the whole family entertained for an afternoon.

Family Day

President’s Day, Feb. 18, is the official “Family Day” at theAuto Show. In addition to all the existing interactive exhibits, there will also be special family events throughout the day and aspecial guest appearance by a Radio Disney star.

Make sure to stop by the child safety seat booth to learn aboutthe best options for your little ones. Shedd Aquarium will also bevisiting the Auto Show in the Toyota Display.

Jeep

While there are a handful of test driving tracks for adults atthe Auto Show, kids will love the mini driving area made just forthem by Jeep. Put your little drivers to the test as they navigatearound larger-than-life crayons and Jeep blocks.

And in the adventurous spirit of Jeep, there’s also a smallclimbing wall for kids to scale.

Step inside this huge green screen photo booth and have akeepsake photo taken. Your family can choose from a variety ofvirtual backdrops and cars to pose with. The best part? It’sfree.

KIA’s furry friends

We’re all familiar with those KIA hamsters, love ’em or hate’em, and they have quite the presence in the KIA display at theauto show. Make sure to stop by if your kids are fans. The KIAdisplay also features a Superman car and driving game.

DIY buttons

Feeling creative? Make your own buttons at the Chevroletdisplay. They make great last-minute Valentine’s tokens. Of course,we colored ours with the logo of our favorite
magazine.

Speedy and shiny

Have you always wanted to sit inside a giant disco ball and playa game? Probably not, but it still sounds pretty cool, right? Atthe Volkswagen display you can do just that. Have someone in yourfamily grab a photo-a disco ball with feet is always a sillysight.
