Wonder! has suddenly shut its doors.

After much anticipation for the mega-retail store geared toward busy families, the 135,000-square-foot, one-stop shopping destination opened in Deerfield in late October. At the time, the man behind the vision, Shane Christensen, told Chicago Parent he wanted to take the stress from new parents by providing advice from experts, entertainment for the kids and everything a child would ever need, from gear to clothing to toys.

The company issued a statement saying it plans to restructure and is hopeful about the future of the concept behind Wonder! Company officials were not available for comment Monday afternoon.

A workshop by First Class Care and Parenting Perspectives planned for this weekend, Creating a Partnership with Your Nanny, has been canceled. Those who paid to attend will receive refunds, a spokesman for First Class Care said Monday afternoon.
