WBEZ's Linda Lutton did another excellent piece on the International Baccalaureate programs hidden inside some of Chicago's poorest and lowest scoring high schools. The kids who come out of these programs score off the charts in knowledge and critical thinking skills. And Mayor Emanuel wants to double the number of programs offered in order to keep middle class high schoolers in the city. But middle class parents don't seem to be too interested.

The piece is a thought provoking addition to the debate about city vs suburbs, private vs public.

Link to the piece here.
