When Chicago parents are always connected, kids' language development suffers

Modern technology allows parents to work from home, leave the office earlier and stay in constant contact with family.

But it also can get in the way of face-to-face communication and leave kids feeling ignored. Experts think parents who constantly text and email while at home could wind up hurting their kids' language development.

One local mom talks about making her home a 'text-free' zone so her kids get the attention they need.
