When the clock hit midnight last Thursday, millions of people made millions of New Year's resolutions. Some are perennials -- lose weight, quit smoking, pick up a new hobby, finally organize that back closet.

But we're not a health magazine or a hobby magazine. We're a parenting magazine, and in that vein, we're asking for your parenting New Year's resolutions. Maybe it's to finally take your son fishing, or make it to more of your daughter's Little League games. Whatever it is, comment below to tell us how you're planning to make 2010 your family's best year yet!

Be more consistent

By Dan on Friday, October 21, 2011

Got to be more consistent with my early teen daughter. Yes, I'm a pushover. Consistency and follow-through would make us all happier (though not necessarily immediately). See point one about consistency!

Try new food

By Betsy S on Friday, October 21, 2011

I am tired of serving up the same old meals night after night so I resolved to find new recipes to try. I got a healthy cookbook from Santa so wish me luck in budging my kids from chicken nuggets and fries.

Not get caught up in the moment

By Tamara on Friday, October 21, 2011

My resolution (other than the usual stuff) is to not get too caught up in my kids' competitions and be disappointed or critical when they aren't perfect every time. Rather, I am going to take a deep breath and be the best cheerleader I can be.

Under-react

By meredith on Friday, October 21, 2011

I am vowing to be better at keeping my initial reaction to things in check. Think I'll try waiting 5 seconds before I open my mouth:)

Get it Together!

By Nancy S. on Friday, October 21, 2011

Help my son become more organized. It's a struggle for him, but I know he'd benefit greatly in all aspects of his life.

working mom

By Jennifer Monasteri on Friday, October 21, 2011

My resolution: to forget about my "to do" list when I'm with my daughter so I can enjoy every minute of time we have together in the evenings (I'm a working mom). The laundry and other chores can wait. After all, I'd rather be a #1 mom than a #1 housekeeper.
