Ever wonder how kids with autism see the world around them, especially when their words are trapped inside them? Photographer Jeff Ebert, of Ebert Photographer, has. This Oak Park dad is on a mission to help kids with autism tell their stories through Ebert's Kids with Cameras project.

He recently equipped kids at Charlie's Gift Autism Center with cameras for a special effort intended to help the kids show aspects of their lives as they see it. The 19 photographers shot hundreds of photos. Click through the slideshow below and find more photos at ebertstudio.com. Photos sold through the third annual project benefit Charlie's Gift.

Queen of Everything

These are so beautiful! I think it really helps people to not see children with autism as 'different' or 'strange' when they realize that they see the beauty in the world so clearly. What a terrific slideshow!

I really like this idea because I've wondered about how my little neighbor with autism sees the world. Congrats to Mr. Ebert for having such a brilliant idea and carrying through with it. Would love to see more.
