Chicago Parent Staff

"We try to go to the Oak Park Conservatory and the one in Chicago (Garfield Park Conservatory) is fun because we can just hop on the L. We love being on the train."

Elizabeth Floody, Oak Park

"We’ll do some sledding and we want to start skiing, because I used to ski, and try some snowboarding."

Queensta Harris, Oak Park

"We took a swimming class last year with our playgroup."

Jeanine Dallimore, Aurora

"We try to go sledding a couple of times."

Ramon Esparza, River Forest

"Aside from playing at
home and reading, we go to Wonderworks (museum)
or the indoor playground at Ridgeland Commons. We’ll also be outside in the snow—that’s what they want to do. And the library is a big place. We go there a lot."

Gabrielle Cordes, Oak Park

"Christkindlmarket, and Winter Wonderland at the zoo."

Rich and Deb Klug,
Orland Park

"We have a playgroup, and we take advantage of the (Brookfield) Zoo and the library, for storytime."

Melissa Abbott, Plainfield

"We like to build snowmen.
We like to go out and just
jump into the snow, make
snow angels. That’s what it’s
all about."

John and Susan Wilkerson, Lombard

"This will be the first winter I’m not nursing, so I’m sure we’ll spend a lot of time at the library and probably doing arts and crafts."

Amanda Miller, Oak Park

"(We like) any of the indoor places here (Brookfield Zoo). We like to go see the dolphin shows, the polar bears."

Cindy Carsello,
Western Springs
