"Not letting go of the past has very much been linked to depression. There's a whole method of living in the moment called Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. It teaches people to live in the moment. Pay attention to the here and now. When you put your clothes on in the morning, within a few seconds we forget what it feels like that our clothes are touching our skin. So the idea is to start paying attention to all the sensations we encounter from moment to moment and start paying attention to ourselves."
