If it's true, as Nelson Mandela said, that "courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it," our country has seen a surplus of courageous people throughout history. Meet some of those famous folks at the Chicago Children's Museum, where kids take part in a history scavenger hunt and chat with museum staff dressed as important Americans to learn how they shaped the current-day U.S.A. at "America's Got COURAGE!" Free with admission. 1 p.m. Feb. 13. 700 E. Grand Ave. at Navy Pier, Chicago. (312) 527-1000, chicagochildrensmuseum.org.
