The gist: Washable, strong and they come in fun patterns kids will love.

Good for: Those of you not willing to sacrifice style and convenience for eco-friendliness.

Envirosax, a reusable shopping bag, folds up neatly into a compact bundle and easily fits in a pocket or purse. The Kids Pack line, featuring kid-friendly designs, may get them excited about making an environmentally friendly choice. The bags are strong, holding up to 44 pounds, and roomy enough to fit plenty of groceries. Little ones could fill them with sporting equipment, school projects and sleepover necessities. The folding instructions are listed on the tag in case you need a little help. My favorite feature is that they're washable-just hand wash the bags in warm water with soap, rinse and line dry.

Where to buy: envirosax.com, starting at $8.95 per bag.
