Get out there and play

If your little ones love monkeying around the house pretending they’re circus performers give them a little inspiration at CircEsteem and the Chicago Youth Circus’ 7th Annual Spring Circus. The circus, at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday, is performed by a troupe of kids 8-18 who will showcase their talents at Alternatives, 4730 Sheridan Road, Chicago.

CircEsteem, a non-profit organization, brings kids from all over Chicago together to work as a team in a multi-act performance. From riding unicycles and stilt walking to juggling and other acrobatic work, the acts are reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil thanks largely to coach, Wolfgang Beintzle, a former performer with the traveling group.

Tickets to the 7th Annual Spring Circus are $10, $5 kids and are available at the door. Reserved box seats are available for $25, but must be ordered in advance. For tickets or information, call (312) 731-HAHA (4242) or visit www.circesteem.org.
