Everyone loves a winner, and now’s your chance to enter contests to win everything from a preschool garden program to a neighborhood ice cream party. Check these out and take a chance.

Slow Churned Neighborhood Salute—Edy’s Grand Ice Cream will award 1,500 neighborhoods the chance to win a free, old-fashioned ice cream social. Simply visit Slowchurned.com for a chance to scoop up a doorstep delivery of ice cream and all the fixings to host a block party for up to 100 neighbors this summer.

To win, just submit a paragraph (350 words or less) on the Web site explaining why your neighborhood deserves an ice cream party. All entries must be received by May 30. Winners will be notified in June and will receive their prize package between July-September.

Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship Program—Kids can win awards ranging from $50 to $5,000 to recognize their selfless acts. To nominate a young volunteer, visit www.kohlskidswhocare.com. Nominations are due by March 15. Kids ages 6-18 can be nominated and can win anything from a $50 Kohl’s gift card to $1,000 college scholarships. Kohl’s will also contribute $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on behalf of each national winner.

Wuzzleburg Preschool Garden Awards—Sponsored by "Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!," an animated comedy television series for kids, and the National Gardening Association, preschools can win a $1,000 grant to garden with their students. To qualify, a preschool or day care center must submit a plan for a garden to be planted and tended by a group of at least 10 kids ages 3-5, in 2008. Award packages will include garden tools and garden- and nature-oriented teaching materials. Applications must be submitted by March 15 and awards will be shipped by April 15. For full details and to download an application, visit http://www.kidsgardening.org/grants.asp.
