f you’re tired of girls’ magazines that are all about dieting and sex, check out New Moon, a magazine for girls 8-12 that’s designed to be a healthy and empowering publication. And if you have a girl in your life who likes to write, this is the perfect forum to see her work published. The ad-free publication is all about giving girls their own voice in the media.

This summer, New Moon media will launch two online communities—targeted to girls—that provide a secure place for girls to post artwork, writing and videos.

The magazine features stories about girls in other countries, famous women in history, girls’ issues like peer pressure and starting middle school, as well as poetry and fiction.

For more information on subscribing or submitting writing or artwork, visit
