Get out and play
When it comes to figuring out what to do with your family this weekend, pencil in running, jumping and playing at Mayor Daley’s Sports Festival at McCormick Place, 2301 S. Martin Luther King Drive, Chicago. The fest began as the Holiday Hoops basketball tournament in 2000, but has grown to encompass a plethora of different sports and activities families can participate in for free.
Play your hearts out on the giant indoor playground as you immerse your family in sports such as golf, football, bowling, martial arts and tennis, just to name a few. There will also be a 50-yard dash, climbing walls and open courts for volleyball and basketball and inflatables for tumbling and sliding.
If bouncing around isn’t exactly your family’s speed, there will also be fishing ponds, an all-ages chess tournament and table tennis as well as ongoing tournaments in various sports, which will allow everyone to play the spectator. There will also be a tot’s zone for smaller kids.

Get fit with this contest
