We've been hearing "breast is best" for years and it looks like the awareness efforts are paying off.

According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 77 percent of new mothers breastfeed for some amount of time, the highest rate in 20 years.

Black infants' rates increased the most, from 36 percent in 1993-1994 to 65 percent. The report is based on information about 434 infants from 2005 and 2006.
