Taggie blankets $18.95 and up Baby Bungalow www.babybungalow.com

We tested the "Taggie" on our 3½-month-old daughter. The Taggie is a printed fleece blanket with colorful, textured tags and loops surrounding the edge.

We initially laid the blanket on the floor and put her on top. Since she can only tolerate being on her stomach for short periods of time and is learning to hold up her head, she did not show interest in the blanket.

However, we quickly learned that we were not using the Taggie properly. We tried sitting her up in a chair and letting her hold onto the blanket. Since she is learning to grasp items and gets stimulated by colors, she now showed more interest in the blanket. She liked to hold and pull on the different tags—and enjoyed tasting them as well. Luckily, it’s machine washable. I personally think it should be a little bigger. Regardless, it will be a perfect security item for many years to come.
