Not every family consists of a mom, dad and kids. Sometimes there's just a mom or a dad; sometimes there are two moms or two dads. Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa fill the role of Mom and Dad or Grandma and Mom work as a team to create a family.
We have teen parents and older parents. We have blended families and interracial and intercultural families. We have growing numbers of multi-generational families. We have suburban and city dwelling families. We have homeless families.
Tell us about your family, whether traditional or non-traditional, big or small, rich or poor. What makes your family special? What makes it different? What lessons have you learned along the way that can help other families like yours?
We'd love to share your family's story. E-mail your story to editor Tamara L. O'Shaughnessy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
