Benefit Cosmetics has stepped up to the proverbial plate to provide offer women its cosmetics and beauty services at a new store located at 3450 N. Southport, Chicago. Fab Mama got a sneak peek into Benefit’s fourth boutique in Chicago, which opens June 19.
For the opening, all of the Benefit employees will sport pink ball caps to reflect the neighborhood’s closeness to Wrigley Field. But it isn’t just the opening that will reflect the nearby baseball haven; the store’s design is also meant to imitate the locker rooms, but with a serious female touch. This locker room is filled with plenty of fun makeup for women to play with.
“Nothing goes together better than baseball and beauty… and the beauty of it is that you can be a fan of both,” says co-creator Jean Ford in a press release.
The Benefit Boutique has been set up with a pink and yellow “candy shop” theme as a place for girlfriends to gather to have their faces waxed, plucked and painted. Along the wall, ladies will find shelves full of candy jars filled with pretty boxes of makeup and other beauty products. An island in the center provides a wonderful space for friends to gather while they test out the cosmetics.
“It doesn’t feel like a makeup counter, it’s more personal,” says Juliette Levy, the PR manager at Benefit.
Beauty services at the Benefit Boutique include basic facial waxing (which ranges from $9-$25 depending on what and how much is being treated), brow and lash tinting ($15-$38) and body waxing ($18-$65, ranging from underarms to full leg with bikini accordingly). All of the body waxing is performed in private rooms labeled “pretty rooms” consistent with the girly-girl feel.
Friday and Saturday (June 19-22), the Benefit Boutique on Southport will offer complementary brow waxing. The boutique will host its grand opening party July 10. Appointments are accepted, but are not necessary.
