Richards is a veteran Chicago journalist and former senior editor for Chicago Parent who left the staff, in part, so she could travel more. She applies the same reporting skills to travel writing that she applies to political reporting: Always digging for the real story. In this case, to discover what works for kids, what doesn’t and how it might be improved.
