Welcome to the world

We’ve all seen them—those cute little signs that announce the newest member of a particular household. Sometimes they include a stork or the baby’s name, sometimes they simply proclaim “it’s a boy” or “it’s a girl,” and no matter how corny those signs might be, you have to admit you stop and smile when you see one. If you have a little one on the way but are looking to announce his or her arrival with a little more style, local company New Deliveries, Inc. has you covered.

The company’s announcement banners, measuring 5 feet by 2 ½ feet, are sure to grab your neighbors’ attention. Available in a variety of styles, each has a kind of retro feel and proudly proclaims your baby’s name, birth date and time, weight and length. They’re made of industrial strength, tear resistant vinyl, so they can stand up to Chicago’s unpredictable weather. Each is also guaranteed against fading for two years and should last up to 20 years indoors. Choose between a vertical or horizontal sign, depending on where you want to hang it, and then move it into the baby’s room for a reminder of when your bundle of joy first entered the world.

Announcement banners from New Deliveries retail for $99. The company also offers announcements and stork sign rentals. For more information or to order, visit www.newdeliveries.com.

I hate to admit it, but I'm a yard stork snob.  In general, I think they look kind of cheesy.  I almost always find the painted handwritten names to be subpar, making me think that if it were in my yard, I'd be out there repainting the name and baby stats on myself, newly postpartum.  That's why, shortly before the arrival of our fourth and final child, my husband pleaded his case to finally have a yard stork, as long as he could find one that didn't look trashy.

I agreed, and promptly forgot about it.  However, when I arrived home from the hospital with our son, I was shocked that he had remembered and that he had found a product that was lovely.  Not only did we have a stork in our yard, with graphics that we're cute and crisp, the printed certificate that was affixed to the stork was printed, laminated, and removed at the end of the week to be a frameable keepsake that now hangs in Harrison's room.

In addition to that we had a hilarious vinyl banner hanging in the front window with a tasteful retro design and the proclamation "Send Help!"  Our neighbors got a kick out of it knowing that with the fourth kid, help is exactly what we needed most.  We had each of our visitors inscribe and sign the back of the banner, and we plan to hang it up again each year on his birthday in order to collect updated signatures from family and friends.

My husband found the owners, Jennifer and Steve, incredibly easy to work with.  They helped him figure out exactly what would best suit our needs, which he appreciated as he was making choices without input from me.

I cannot say enough good things about this company or their products.  In fact, this year we will also be ordering our Christmas cards through them.  I love that I have found products that I am excited to recommend to other picky parents.

My wife and I recently had our first child.  Unfortunately he was a little early so he had to stay in the NICU for several days so I didn't have the time to find a yard stork for his arrival.  On the day that he was coming home, I found the newdeliveries.com website and instantly loved the storks and banners.  Since we live in a Townhome, we chose the banner because of our condo association by-laws.

Jennifer at newdeliveries.com was incredible.  She was very nice and extremely helpful.  Jennifer went out of her way to make sure that our banner was printed and delivered to us the same day that our son was coming home.

We could not be happier with what we received.  The banner is incredible and we get great comments from neighbors and family eveytime they see it.  I agree with the comments by jenostrum that I cannot say enough good things about newdeliveries.com.  The products they offer are fantastic.  The storks are the best looking storks I have seen and the banners are so creative.  I will definitely recommend newdeliveries.com to my friends and family.

We were thrilled with the banner for my baby shower!  It was such a creative and unique way to greet guests as they arrived, and it is now a wonderful keepsake with the signatures of everyone who attended.

We also had a great experience with our Holiday cards.  Jennifer and Steve were great to work with - Steve even retouched our photo without us asking, and we received the cards in just a couple of days!  We had so many compliments on the cards, with many people saying that they were so well designed and so much nicer than the typical photo cards.

We will definitely order our holiday cards again from newdeliveries.com, and will recommend them to our friends and family!
