Dungeons, and Dragons, Crystals and Knights! Would your kids enjoy stepping into another fantasy world where the wave of a magic wand opens treasure chests, slays dragons, and casts spells?

MagiQuest, Yorktown malls newest attraction, is a role-playing, fantasy game that envelops kids in a 'medieval' world where they can be the knight or princess in shining armour.

For $4.95 per half hour, plus a one-time purchase of $16.95 for a magic wand that controls the action, kids choose a character and a clan and must solve a quest - my son and his cousins had to slay a red dragon. Keep the wand and use if for future visits, at MagiQuest Yorktown or any of the other locations around the Midwest, including Mall of America and the Wisconsin Dells.

Our gang of three, ages 8, 9 and 12 enjoyed the quest, even though dungeons and dragons really isn't their thing. Reading is required, so it's an activity suitable for kids and adults alike, as long as you can read and have an attention span that can follow a video game for a half hour of play. It's the perfect activity to break up a day of shopping or to get moving on a blustery day. True aficionados may want to consider having a birthday party at the venue, which offers party packages featuring food and more.
