10pin bowling on a rainy afternoon
Tuesday, October 27, 200910pin, the bowling alley in the Hotel Sax hotel is perfect: It's got 24 long lanes, it's never crowded (at least during the kid-friendly hours, every day 11 a.m. 'til
8 p.m.), they have bumpers so
there are no too-sore losers, you can catch up on all the new music
videos by artists you've never even heard of before, AND you can
order a thin-crust pizza ai quattro formaggio and gourmet
s'mores for dessert, instead of the usual bowling-alley
Tombstone.Shoe Rental:
$3.95 for regular shoes
$4.95 for 'cool' shoes (whatever that means)
Open play before 5 p.m. is $4.95/game - after 5 it's $6.95.
Reduced parking available at the Hotel Sax entrance near the closest Marina tower.

I love the different activities in Chicago you are calling attention to - such a diverse array of fun outings! I have one to add to your calendar, and I would love it if you would blog about it. I work for Open Books, a nonprofit social venture that has been working to eliminate illiteracy in Chicago since 2006. Open Books is opening its flagship store in River North this month. There will be a weekend full of family friendly literary events that will please any reader no matter how young. From a puppet show by Blackbird Theater Company to kids bookmaking and crafts, kids author events and the delightful Story Bus, this will be a great opportunity to acquaint your family with Chicago's newest bookstore, complete with an amazing children's section. The best part is that anyone who participates in this free event is supporting the cause of literacy!
