Think ancient myths are boring? You'd better think again. SPARK re-imagines the myths of Prometheus and Pandora, setting them in a fractured futuristic world - more "Divergent" than Dante. Two Chicago Parent readers will win a family five-pack to opening night of the show (4 p.m. April 12), which includes a post-show food, drink and game reception, at the Vittum Theater.

Meet Cathy Cassani Adams
About this blog
Cathy Cassani Adams is searching for greater meaning and higher
purpose. Her search has taken her down different paths, from the
aisles of the self-help section, to the workshops of gurus, to her
past experience as a child and family therapist at Children's
Memorial Hospital, to her current work as a certified Parent Coach
and yoga instructor. But her greatest lessons come from her
three beautiful daughters, ages 8, 6, and 3. Cathy is the
author of "The Self-Aware Parent: 19 Lessons for Growing
with Your Children.", she's an instructor in the Sociology
Department at Dominican
University, and she and her husband Todd host Zen Parenting Radio on
Pagatim.fm. Cathy lives
with her family in Elmhurst and she can be found at www.cathycassaniadams.com.

After one listen I couldn't wait to dance to it in the kitchen with my girls, and I couldn't help but think of all the people who would be dancing, singing, and believing in what this song has to say. It kind of choked me up. Read more ...
There is an assumption that if we allow our kids to discover their own interests, boundaries around things like TV, Facebook, internet would just go out the window. Or that allowing children to be who they are means completely disconnecting or leaving them to their own devices. Read more ...
I have had the luxury of seeing Wicked on several occasions and I have yet to make it through the Defying Gravity scene without crying. The song is dramatic, full of emotion, and it’s also the first time that Elphaba, the main character, fully accepts herself. It’s when she declares to the world who she really is.

Constantly living from this place is too stifling, too demanding, and basically not fun, especially because it’s afraid to fail. It serves me, but when it has too much power I get stuck. But my heart decisions are free and exciting, fun and inspiring.... Read more ...
