This is a simple idea, something you can practice everyday.  It's simple, but it's not always easy.

Idea #2:  Do three things when your children wake up in the morning and walk out (or wait in their crib) to greet you:

1.         look in their eyes

2.         smile at them

3.         give them a hug

The morning can be a challenging time.  Getting everybody up and ready on time is not an easy task, especially when you have to take care of yourself, too.

What if you got up 10 minutes (1 hour, 30 minutes, 5 minutes…whatever works for you) before your children so you could focus on yourself?  Take some time for you, ground and center yourself so your children don't wake up to a flurry of rushed or anxious energy.  Make a conscious decision to start the day on a calm note.

If the first thing your child experiences every morning is love and calm, imagine how it will shape their day.  If you did this everyday (or even 3 times a week), imagine how it will shape your relationship
