Blog Link of the Week
Tuesday, October 12, 2010I know I like to start (and stop) features here, but to keep me reading blogs and connecting with like-minded webfolk, I am going to start a weekly post of my favorite blogs and/ or websites.
This week, through, oddly enough, an email pitch about her book, Exploiting My Baby, I came upon Teresa Strasser and her blog of the same name.
Not only does Ms. Strasser have a baby boy the exact same age as my peanut, but she tells the stories of her birth (via c-section) and issues with breastfeeding with grace and a lot of humor. It helps that she's an Emmy-Winning writer, but even though she's a true pro, she feels like your best friend with her witty storytelling.
Here's what I'm talking about - a sample from her post titled, " I'm Like the Guy In Fight Club," in which she describes her attendance to a mother's breastfeeding club meeting even though she's weaned her baby, had me rolling my eyes just reading it:
Sometimes, I just want to raise my hand and say, "Listen you crazy bitches, it's not all about the breastfeeding. I'm sure you can bond with your babies in lots of ways that don't involve turning your lives inside out just to make sure you never expose your baby to an ounce of formula. It's not poison."
She hasn't posted since July, but I hope she comes back soon. If not, even just her archives are worth it.
