BumpitupWhen I was pregnant last Fall, I thought it would be slightly fun(ny) to only wear sweats during my last trimester of pregnancy. Of course, they were lululemon sweats, so they weren't completely dingy and unstylish, but they were comfy, all-elastic and not totally fashionable.

Now that I'm back to my fighting weight, I'm relishing dressing up my mommy wardrobe. I'll only wear lululemon to the gym (and not out of the gym after I've worked out), and I'm a sucker for heels, jewelry, scarves and tight pants - all things I wouldn't have dared wore during my last trimester of pregnancy.

I owe this new attitude of "bumping up"  my mommy style mostly to my recent meeting  with Amy Tara Koch, Chicago's very own fashion maven and pregnancy style guru. (Check the October issue of CP for an interview I did with her and more preggo style tips!) When I met with her last month, she talked me out of my lululemon habits (she says sweats are evil), and now I'm a Fall fashion shopping shopaholic. (I finally stopped Fall shopping last week after a complete bender weekend on Michigan Avenue.)

Because of this, I MUST notify all preggos, soon-to-be preggos, not-telling-anyone-yet preggos about an amazing sale that Amy cultivated for the Gilt Groupe site. If you haven't heard of Gilt Groupe, it is a website that sells designer clothes for half price. And it's not just overruns, duds or irregulars. It's great stuff.

Amy's sale is coordinated with Belly Dance Maternity (they have a store in Bucktown) and she's put together specific looks from maternity designers such as Maternal America, Chaiken, NOM, Paige, Noppies and Ingrid & Isabel based on sketches from her popular and fabulous book, " Bump It Up: Transform Your Pregnancy Into the Ultimate Style Statement." And the best part (besides the wicked discounts), is that many of the pieces Amy's picked can be used after pregnancy as well. It's sure to get you out of your bad sweats habit.

The Bump It Up sale on Gilt Groupe starts MONDAY SEPTEMBER 13 at 11 am CST on http://www.gilt.com. You can preview the looks now on the Gilt Groupe site.
