Too often I'll avoid going to to the Chicago Children's Museum. It's a shlep from my house in Lakeview, parking can be expensive and there are too many places for my four-year-old to take off and hide.

But if it's just me and the baby, I'd think about checking out the museum's Early Childhood Learning Activities programs. Each day, movement, literacy and play times are offered. And the best part is that kids under one get free admission!

I might just find an excuse to head down today to check out Mindful Moves. Even if the baby isn't crawling yet.

The Chicago Children's Museum is at Navy Pier - (312) 527-1000.
