One of my favorite pastimes is to take the boys to a movie and share a bag of popcorn. Although movie theatres are a dime a dozen, finding those unique places to see a movie can make the entire experience extra-special. If you’re looking to see your next show in a great space, check out these great movie-viewing finds.
Chicago Ridge, Illinois
This renovated theater features oversized reclining seats, cup holders and a bar for adult and specialty drinks. Buy your tickets early when planning a trip here because they are frequently sold out during weekends and for popular showings. We also love these seats because, when my boys do feel like being held, there’s just enough snuggle room.
Woodrige, Illinois
Taking dinner and a movie to the next level, this movie theater offers dinner while you watch with movie-themed menu items such as Honey, I Blew Up the Salad and the Arnold Schwarzenburger. This date night hot spot is perfect for saving money on a babysitter when you’re able to eat dinner and watch a movie at the same time. It’s a special experience is sure to impress children and adults alike.
West Chicago, Illinois
This suburban favorite reopens next month with Fast and Furious 7. Pull up the car, and prepare to view a movie under the stars. With a full-service concession stand and an option to grill your own food at their specialty grills, bring the whole family for a wonderful night outdoors. Don’t forget to check out Bargain Sundays, which make the entire experience even more economical.
LaGrange, Illinois
This old-fashioned, street-side theater offers newer movies at a fraction of the price. The theater has been entertaining families for 80 years and offers special matinees and movie throwbacks throughout the year. Once you check out a movie, stroll downtown LaGrange for unique eats and sights – the perfect family night out.
