It's no secret that I have a slight obsession with fall. As in,
I'm so consumed with the crisp air and delicious smells that I fit
right into my October birthday. While the weather is telling us the
fall is in the air, the official start of the autumnal season
arrives this weekend and I, for one, am ready.
Bring on the apples, pumpkins and hues of browns and orange. If
you're in the mood to bake some cool weather goodies, I've rounded
up some great recipes to keep you full and satisfy those September
cravings you might have.
Start with something simple like Pumpkin Pie Truffles.
Try them out now and then make them again 20 more times before
Thanksgiving. I dare you to stop at just one. Another huge favorite
is caramel apples. This Harvest Snack
Mix is perfect for a classroom setting, for a weekend movie
night or even just to munch on throughout the week. My other
favorite fall treat is pumpkin bread and this pumpkin cream cheese
bread looks especially delicious.
Have you already headed out to collect apples? A friend recently
snagged a huge batch of Honey Crisp apples and a few of these apple
recipes might come in handy. This variation of a Triple Dipped
Apple will have you clamoring for more and they look pretty,
too. If you're not in the mood to bake, find these apple
treats around Chicago and enjoy!
You've made your snacks and packed them up, now what? If the
crunch of leaves in your backyard isn't enough, Chicago Parent has
compiled a guide to fall foliage
around Chicagoland for your viewing pleasure. For more fall ideas,
