Kids say the darnest things.

Whenever I need a good belly laugh I recall the fleeting moments when my muses comments inspired me to take notes with whatever was handy. My daughter Holly went through a particularly funny phase. These are among the ‘best of’ my funny-girl’s moments, and they still make me smile.

Did you happen to catch that episode of NBC’s new prime-time show “The Parenthood” where Julia, a working mom in a rush to get to a meeting, endures the brazenness of another mom who sneaks in front of her in the car drop-off lane at her daughter’s elementary school? I can relate!

Oh, it was going to be so lovely. A comfy chaise lounge nestled in a quiet, out-of-the-way corner. A good book, a chenille throw for those delicious, impromptu naps between chapters and a cup of hot tea. It was to going to be ‘Mommy’s special place.’ Now? Not so much.
