We have a saying in our home "Life isn't always fair." When things don't go the way we planned, the first thing I tell them to do is to calm themselves. A few deep breaths can relax the mind and body and help us think clearer. Next, we try to talk about the problem and decide if we want to dwell on the disappointment or choose to find happiness. I find myself getting through disappointment by talking about my day and remembering one positive thing from it.
