LEAVE!!!! With promptness. It should look like someone parked a car and left it running by the time I left because that's the amount of smoke that would be on my heels running to get out of there! First, if I know someone and they are being gossiped about I absolutely would not participate in the conversation, that includes not sitting there and listening to the gossip either. Second, I might question my friendship with these moms at the social because if they are gossiping about moms I know, nine times out of 10 they are gossiping about me, too. Lastly, even though I may not have wanted to leave, leaving would be the best solution because I have detached myself from the harmful gossip and the only gossip the moms could say about me would be "Where did Diane go? Did she leave?"
