Best Corn Mazes for Families in Chicagoland

Have some fall fun at one of these corn mazes in Chicagoland.

One of the best things about fall is getting lost in a maze! Local farms offer acres of land topped with intricate designs. We love trying to find our way through these mazes that spin you around.

This year, you won’t be disappointed by the most a-maze-ing mazes in the Chicago area. Here are some of our favorite corn mazes that you and the family don’t want to miss.

NOTE: Before visiting, please check each farm’s website or call ahead to check dates of their pumpkin patch season. Some farms may also require you to pay an admission cost.

All Seasons Orchard

Enjoy this 6-acre corn maze with over three miles of pathways and a lookout bridge. Choose between two paths. The first is for littles and the second is a more challenging maze for the older kids and adults. The shorter maze takes about 20 minutes and the longer maze takes about 40 minutes. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Dave’s Pumpkins

The mini corn maze is perfect for perusing and exploring with younger kids. Go pumpkin bowling (yes, with real pumpkins) or have some old-fashioned fun on the pedal tractors. Their u-pick pumpkins are available for a low price and they have cider donuts on weekends in the fall.

Jonamac Orchard

Every year there is a new corn maze theme. The 2023 season opens on August 26, and this year’s theme will be revealed soon. Those brave enough can visit the maze at night for a flashlight night when it gets a makeover with ghouls, ghosts and graves in October.

Konow’s Corn Maze

Choose to go through the larger 3.4-mile maze with twists and turns, or the much smaller .4-mile version. As the name suggests, the corn maze is the highlight of the farm, but there are plenty of other fun activities such as rides, corn pits and animals.

Kroll’s Fall Harvest Farm

Each year, they provide new curriculum with a game in the corn maze. You won’t find muddy, slippery paths here either since they spread wood chips on all of the paths. If you need a little help, they have staff within the maze to help navigate you through. Typically, a family takes about an hour to complete the maze, but there are plenty of exits for families to leave when they wish.

Kuiper’s Family Farm

Stop by Kuiper’s Family Farm from Sept. 16 through Oct. 31 to pick pumpkins and enjoy 30 fall attractions, including a five-acre corn maze, a petting zoo, giant checkers, themed playgrounds and so much more.

Richardson Adventure Farm

Get lost in the 28-acre “World’s Largest Corn Maze” with a special theme every year. Try one (or all!) of the five corn maze games that may last from 10 minutes to as long as two hours. They include Finger Sillies Maze Game, Farm Scene Investigation Game, Farm Tracks Maze Game, Quiz Questions Maze Game and 24 Hidden Checkpoints Game.

Royal Oak Farm

This is technically not a corn maze, but it’s too great to skip! Take a stroll through the first and only apple tree maze in the country, Amaze ‘N Apples, which clocks in at five acres with more than a mile of walking trails and 2,500 trees. Play games in the maze or search for the characters from their own children’s book. Don’t forget to pick two apples from one of the nine varieties of apple trees in the maze on your way out!

Siegel’s Cottonwood Pumpkin Farm

Walk through 12 acres of this maze, which is open on weekends and Columbus Day only. This year’s theme is Super Mario Bros. Children 12 and under should be accompanied by an adult. Pro tip: Make sure to wear old shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.

Stade’s Farm and Market

Families flock here during the weekends for Shades of Autumn Festival and classic farm fun. Start off by taking a tractor driven hayride to their 33-acre pumpkin patch and then hit up the two-acre corn maze for all ages. Activities abound, including a mini-Ferris wheel, petting zoo, veggie cars, slide mountain, zip lines and more.
