About this blog
Jim Noonan is a former shoe salesman, landscaper, park ranger, office clerk, unauthorized handyman, "actor," waiter and student. At no time during his journeys did he ever imagine that he would take a full-time job with no salary, insurance or stock options, but that's exactly what happened. Jim is currently working for a $20 a week allowance as a stay-at-home dad, a job his wife gave him (on the second interview) after a new teaching degree and a plethora of student loans failed to land him a job.
It didn't take long for Jim to find the humor and horror of being a stay-at-home-dad, and he now channels his experiences with Lucy, 3, and Ruby, 1, into "Life Between Naps." Jim and the girls can currently be seen wandering around the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago.

"Jim, get up!!! I have to get ready, and I can't do that if Ruby continues to stick her arms in the toilet." Errrrrr… Me no wanna get up, so sleepy. I bury my head under the pillow and yell to the bathroom, "I want the day off."

Why I Can't Fly

I think Lucy has super-powers. I know-I know, it’s crazy, but she does things… super-crazy, supernatural, super-powery things, that are quite frankly - - unexplainable.

A disturbing and terrifying event
Posted Nov 5, 2009 9:53 AM
I feel like I might have the urge to use the restroom. With one child this can be a chore, but with two? Well I'm walking a fine line, especially when only one can stand, and grocery carts full of food are not permitted into the restrooms.
