For a brunch this weekend, I was asked to bake something. My
friend is trying to get back to her pre-baby self so I threw
together something healthy. She always raves about her favorite
brunch spot where they put Nutella on the breakfast table with
butter and jam. Now, what can I bake with Nutella?!
As my son and I glanced around the kitchen and inside the
pantry, I knew exactly what our afternoon baking project entailed.
My son mashed the three bananas while I softened the butter and
laid out the ingredients. He mixed and stirred and could not
believe his eyes when these swirly bars tasted magically
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray the baking pan and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, add bananas, sugar, vanilla, yogurt, butter,
eggs, and salt. Mix until smooth.
Add baking soda, cinnamon, and both flours.
Pour half of the banana batter into the pan, microwave Nutella
directly in the glass Pyrex measuring cup for 30 seconds and then
pour half Nutella over the batter. Use a knife to drag the Nutella
and create a design. I like zig zag.
Pour remaining batter on top and then repeat zig zaging the
Nutella with a knife.
Bake for 29-32 minutes. Use the fork test.
