If you are like me, you are a mom on the go. When you are on the go, you need to plan ahead, diapers, water bottles, extra change of clothes if your child is potty training, snacks, snacks and more snacks. No one wants to hear "I'm hungry" while in the car on the way to an after-school activity, right? Let's face it, you nibble on their snacks, too. (I know you do, because I do, too!)
If you don't think ahead, you are left buying unhealthy vending machine snacks. You can easily pre-cut an apple and grab a packet of peanut butter (or Sunbutter if you child has a peanut allergy). How hard is that? Yet we just don't make the time to do it because we have become a convenience society. It is quicker to throw a dollar into that vending machine or go to a drugstore and buy a "glorified candy bar." (You may know them as "energy or protein bars").
And did you know us Americans are snacking almost an extra 600 calories per day? That is one meal extra per day and some of these snacks are coming from sugar drinks. (In case you didn't know, we consume an average of 140 pounds of sugar per year)
That is why I created the Snack Smart Solutions App. It has more than 40 snacks that are all balanced according to protein, fiber and GOOD fats. The foods are combined to synergistically create energy in the body when you need it the most. The snacks are within 150-225 calories that help curb cravings and balance blood sugars.
If you are a young mom, keeping up with those tots of yours is important so you are not crashing either. Have a kid in college? They will benefit and appreciate not having to think of a healthy snack idea (in fact send them a care package so they can have it on hand!)
Gluten free? No prob, most of the snacks are naturally gluten free. There are paleo, vegan and vegetarian options, too.
There are no excuses to not have Snack Smart Solutions on your smartphone. The most important question I know you may be thinking, is there chocolate? Yes there is! Who does not like a little treat when they are snacking? Just don't make a habit out of it.
