3 best places to get fit in the south suburbs

This time of year has me thinking of my health a little more than normal. It could be because the farmer’s markets are starting up soon full of fresh veggies and fruits. Maybe it’s because I am actually feeling like I can exercise outside again.

Perhaps it is the impending doom of getting into a bathing suit. Yeah, that’s probably it.

Even the most fit and active of us like to stay that way, and being able to do that with a family sometimes takes a little more finesse than before.

In the south suburbs there are plenty of facilities to get active that also offer some fun for the kids.

Life Time Fitness has everything you’d want in a fitness center. There is an indoor/outdoor pool, plenty of machines, classes, family locker rooms, a café and gym.

Riviera Country Club is a smaller fitness center, but has everything you and your family need to stay healthy and active this summer. Complete with a relaxing pool, plenty of workout space, a walking track, tennis courts and a place to grab a bite to eat. This is not only a place to workout, but a great place to lounge by the pool on a hot summer day.

Palos Health & Fitness Center has ample workout space and plenty of machines. The aquatic center and beautiful walking track are perfect for those rainy summer days when you can’t bear to head outside. There is plenty to do, and the supervised child area will put your mind at ease when you are trying to workout.
