If you're a parent who likes to run and you have been thinking about participating in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, then you know this year's registration is different than years past.

2014 is the first year runners are required to enter a lottery with the hopes of being picked to run. This has a lot of runners in a panic about not being able to run in our own hometown race. For many it has become the luck of the draw as to whether they will be able to participate this year or not.

This weekend Nike has found a way to alleviate the anxiety for 20 lucky runners. They are giving away 20 guaranteed spots to the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Nike is asking runners to wear test the new Nike Free collection (3.0 or 5.0) on the treadmill for 2.62 miles over a two-day period. The first 10 participants each day will get an automatic entry for the marathon.

How it works:

Nike is rewarding the first 10 consumers this Saturday (April 5) and Sunday (April 6) that wear test the new Nike Free Collection for 2.62 miles with an automatic entry to the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. A total of 20 runners won't have to worry about not getting lucky. They'll have the chance to earn a spot this weekend. Individuals will be provided with a redemption code to bypass the lottery and will be required to pay the entry fee.
