Tyra Banks, former supermodel and America's Next Top Model creator, has added another title to her extensive resume: author.

Her debut novel, "Modelland," for tweenage readers aims to redefine the idea of beauty among all women and girls - whether they are plus size or thin, have unusual features, or are taller or shorter than average - and is loosely based on Tyra's own experiences a young model.

"All women and girls are beautiful, no matter what size, shape, imperfections or features..." she said during the first stop of her book tour at North Central College's Wentz Hall, hosted by Anderson's Bookshop of Naperville.
