Are your kids all about "helping" you in the kitchen? Caleb especially loves to bake, so when I heard about The Kids' Table in Bucktown, we had to test it out. I loved the idea that they teach kids how to cook healthy foods and Caleb just plain loves to cook, so he was happy!

We attended a Super Foods session, where they made dark chocolate goji berry cookies. Even the most skeptical child tried and liked all of the ingredients, and they all ate their handiwork just as soon as it came out of the oven.

The Kids' Table offers classes for kids from toddlers to teens and some parent and family classes as well. They also have some really interesting summer camp options for all ages as well.

After having such a great experience at his first class, we signed up Caleb for a "Kids' Night Out" too. How great is this - for $35, parents get to go out and have grown up time from 6-9 p.m., and the kids make and eat dinner, then watch a movie, complete with oven-popped popcorn!

The Friday night we attended, Caleb made spaghetti and garlic bread (and ate all of it), and they watching 'Finding Nemo' afterward. When I picked him up at 9, nearly two hours past his normal bedtime, he said he wanted to go back again for more the next day. Yay for trustworthy, fun, educational babysitting and date night!

As an extra bonus, The Kids' Table has agreed to offer all of YOU a discount so your kids can try out some healthy fun, too. Mention 'Chicago Parent Blog' when you call to register for a 'Tots or Kids Can Cook' session (a four-class series), and you'll receive 20 percent off (that's an $18 value!). Hurry, spots fill up fast and this offer will expire June 1, 2011!

Happy cooking!
