Welcome to ChiIL Out, the newest blog at Chicago Parent. I'm all about raising artsy, creative, eco-conscious, urban kids in Chicago, Illinois (or Chi, IL). I'm not worried about diet fads or who has what designer diaper bag at the park. I don't care what you wear or how much laundry you're procrastinating on while you read this blog...
I'm worried about how many Silly Bands and Go Go Crazy Bones can safely pass through the puppy without a trip to the emergency vet. I'm worried about how to keep my kids visible after dark, so they aren't stepped on at concerts and large music festivals. I'm worried my kids are going to belt out inappropriate lyrics at school, or even worse...in front of the grandparents.
I want to get out of the laundry room and explore all that Chi, IL has to offer. We live in a world class city, and one big, giant playground. So come ChiIL Out already and play. If you want to laugh with us, near us, or even at us...that's OK. At least you're laughing! If you want to win Kids' CDs that won't drive you crazy, I can help. I review the latest alternative and indie kids' releases, so you know what you're getting into on that road trip called parenthood.
