With autumn well underway in Chicagoland (brr . . . it's been chilly!), I thought it was a perfect time to come up with a list of things for your family to do in the fall . . . you know, before the temps plummet to below freezing in the winter.

Making memories together as a family is what I strive for everyday and enjoying the outdoors is a perfect way to come together as a family. Some people call these lists "bucket lists," but when I think of things to do with my kids, the last thing I want to think about is kicking the bucket!

So here's my list of the top 15 things to do with the family in the fall:

1.       Visit a pumpkin patch

2.       Go on a nature walk

3.       Attend a Fall Festival

4.       Attend a football game

5.       Collect leaves . . .

6.       . . . then jump in them!

7.       Enjoy some apple cider

8.       Make s'mores

9.       Go on a hay ride

10.   Walk through a corn maze

11.   Carve pumpkins (or just decorate them)

12.   Roast pumpkin seeds

13.   Go Trick-or-treating

14.   Make hot chocolate (with marshmallows!)

15.   Take a family photo outdoors

We've already completed a few items on this list and hope to complete them all before winter comes.

What are some of your favorite family activities to do in the fall?
