Meet Alaina Buzas
Alaina Buzas is the digital content editor for Chicago Parent. She was raised to believe giving back to your community should be a part of your weekly routine.About this blog
A Semester with 826CHI chronicles my weekly volunteer adventures with a local non-profit literacy and tutoring center.
826 Chicago is the local chapter of 826 National. They work with students ages 6 to 18 on creative writing skills and help teachers inspire their students to write.
Over the course of semester, I'll be working with them on a number of projects including in-school tutoring, after-school tutoring, field-trips and more. My hope is that through this process I can better understand and connect with our community, specifically when it comes to the education of the children of Chicago. My goal with this blog is to make it a learning process for all of us.
